Essential entities include sectors such as energy, transportation, banking, health, and digital infrastructure. Important entities span postal services, waste management, food production, and digital providers. Micro and small enterprises are excluded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Management Accountability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A notable requirement is the accountability of management. Organizations must ensure that their management bodies approve and oversee cybersecurity risk measures. Additionally, management members are required to undergo relevant cybersecurity training to enhance understanding and commitment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Security Measures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Directive outlines mandatory cybersecurity measures, including: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Risk analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incident management policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business continuity plans (e.g., backup and disaster recovery)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supply chain security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vulnerability handling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic cyber hygiene practices and mandatory training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi-factor authentication and secure communication systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Existing frameworks like ISO 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework can aid in compliance. The process involves: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Early Warning:<\/strong> Within 24 hours, indicating potential causes and cross-border effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Incident Notification:<\/strong> Within 72 hours, detailing severity, impact, and indicators of compromise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Intermediate report:<\/strong> CSIRT or the competent authority may request on a case-by-case basis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Final Report:<\/strong> Submitted within a month, summarizing the incident, its root cause, and mitigation measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Steps for Compliance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations must determine whether they fall under the Directive\u2019s scope. Early preparation is crucial, particularly for those with low cybersecurity maturity.
